ABOUT

Say Something

In 2012, Say Something launched.

No one noticed.

Say Something didn’t mind.

The following year, in New Orleans, right before the Super Bowl, Say Something tried again.

Guess what happened?

In 7 school days they hosted 57 events, in 41 schools, reaching 38,000 students!!!

And that is what happens when you don’t give up.

Today, Say Something has traveled to almost 500 schools throughout the United States, reaching over 400,000 students with powerful messages, engaging speakers, music and an entertaining presentation that touches student’s hearts and inspires them to SAY SOMETHING GREAT, DO SOMETHING GREAT and BE SOMETHING GREAT!

Our Mission

Say Something believes that every student should know how to recognize and respond to issues that threaten their futures.

Our Director

Jody Dyess

Jody began working with students on a volunteer basis in his hometown of Meridian, Mississippi over 20 years ago.  His drive is to see students grow up to be successful and productive members of society.

Traveling throughout the U.S., Jody has presented to thousands of high school and middle school students, challenging and motivating them to speak up and say something against bullying and exploitation. He has done this through innovative and powerful school assemblies designed to equip students to stand up and say something about the issues that threaten their futures.

Jody has been in the fight against human trafficking for many years. He works with FREE International, an organization that fights human trafficking in the U.S., and has trained over a thousand law enforcement and first responders on how to recognize and respond to the signs of labor and sex trafficking. In 2017, he was appointed to the Mississippi Human Trafficking Task Force and has been the keynote speaker for various government and advocacy groups on the issue of trafficking.

Jody communicates out of his own experiences and life lessons, some of them not so glamorous. It is his real-life approach that makes him a sought-after communicator to both students and adults.
